3a Communicating With Students

Students succeed with different options of communications and ability to interactively engage students in the classroom. Resources such as Mentimeter, Jamboard, and Quizlet are interactive ways of getting students actively engaged in the classroom. GroupMe and Google Classroom are effective and manageable tools for communicating with students outside of the classroom.

3c: Engaging Students In Learning

This written task includes a scaffolded exercise of guiding students individually to prepare for group discussions and engaging them directly in learning the clear objectives of the lesson. Ensuring students have a key understanding prior to group conversations to allow for individual processing and opinion making is essential as it allows for their own perspective to be formulated without being silenced by peers or the teacher.

3d: Using Assessment in Instruction

Incorporating assessment naturally into instruction involves effectively ensuring students are absorbing and processing the material and subject matter in throughout the lesson. This worksheet includes the expectations, rubric, and self-assessment for a group identity project where they combined solo material into group choreography to be presented and performed for the class.
